K-Lyinn whose actual name is Jacqueline Ntuyabaliwe is a bongo flava artiste from Tanzania. She is also Miss Tanzania 2000.

By the age of six where she was mimicking Madonna and Mariah Carey songs and in later years, participated in school concerts singing different songs.

She started her music career as lead singer of the Tanzanites in 1998. Before she won Miss Tanzania 2000, she was part of the Dar es Salaam-based Kilimanjaro Band. After working in the corporate industry and on television, she returned to music in 2004 and her single, Machozi ya Furaha, topped various local charts.

Seif Shaban aka Matonya is a Bongo flava artiste from Tanzania. He names himself Matonya in honour of a famous beggar in Dar Es Salaam who was repatriated to Dodoma. This was because of the trials and struggles he went through to make it as a musician in Tanzania. Matonya means trouble. His music is inspired by Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, Tyrese, Famon and Akon.

He had his education in the Tanga region before moving to Dar Es Salaam to pursue a music career. In school, he formed a group called Dyborn circle with three friends - Mark, Rama and Davie.

Joseph Haule is popularly known as Professor Jay and is a Tanzanian hip hop artist.

He started rapping in 1994 as a member of the group Hard Blasters, best known for their hit "Chemsha Bongo" (then he used stage name Nigga J) from their first album, "Funga Kazi". Only one year later, they won the title of best hip-hop group in Tanzania.

During his solo career which he started in 2001, he has released number of hits, including "Nikusaidiaje" and "Zali la Mentali (feat Juma Nature)". Other songs released by Professor Jay include "Piga Makofi" and "Yataka Moyo"[3]. Just like Mr.

Lady Jaydee is the premier R&B artiste from East Africa and her real name is Judith Daines Wambura Mbibo. She is also known as Binti Machozi. She started singing in church at the age of 7 and was a member of the Afro Reign group in the mid 90's. She is affectionately called Ledi jeidii jukwaani.

She was a presenter at Clouds 88.4 FM radio station after completing school and soon began recording music, starting with Nakupenda (I love you) in 2000 and then following up with Mpenzi Wangu (My love). The success of these singles made her quit her radio stint to pursue a music career.

Dudu Baya (real name - Godfrey Tumaini) is a Bongo flava artiste from Tanzania. Due to the some run-ins and rivalry with other artistes (like Mr. Nice), he has been tabbed the drama king in Tanzanian music circles.

Dudu baya grew up wanting to become a priest. He schooled in seminary schools before going into music.

His debut album, Siku ya Kufa Kwangu came out in 2000 which was followed by Amri Kumi Za Mungu in 2001. Mpangaji was released in 2002 followed by Papo Kwa Hapo in 2003.

Banana Zorro is a Bongo Flava musician from Tanzania. He is also the son of legendary singer Ally Zorro.
He recorded with his father's studio and produced two tracks called 'Anakudanganya' and 'Big Boss'. On the back of these singles, he joined a group called BloveM which meant Banana loves Masiga.

He released his debut album, Banana, in 2002. His second album called Subra came out in 2006. He also does live band music with the InAfrika Band. He has formed a unit called Sayari (Kiswahili for planet) with Bushoke and Soul n Faith.

Mbwana Mohamed is a Bongo flava musician from Tanzania. He is more popularly known as MB Dog (dogg).

His real name is Mbwana Mohamed, he was born in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam in 1983, and like many other young people his musical interest was influenced by American music and later on from the pioneers of Bongo flava style like Mr II, Dola Soul and Kwanza Unit.

MB Dogg releases a hit single (debut) in 2004 called Latifa. He followed this with another hit single called Si Uliniamba (But You told me).
