Soundcity, one of Africa's most popular music video shows organizes its own music video awards for Nigeria. This year's SMVAs edition will be held on the 1st of August, 2009 at The Soundcity Music Centre, Oceanview VI. The nominees and winners for last year's edition can be found here on this Museke.com link. It is sponsored by GLO, one of the biggest mobile communications operators in Nigeria, which has been supporting the Nigerian music industry in various ways. Multiple award nominees include 2Face Idibia, P-Square, J-Martins, D'Banj, Weird MC, etc.

You can vote online now at the SoundCity Music Video Awards website, it closes on July 25, 2009. If you live in Nigeria, you can also send SMS to 33 144 (lat N50 - 50 naira - per vote)
