Mina Nawe is a trio of Afro-pop musicians from South Africa. It is made up of Manchild, Carlo and Mazet. They hail from Daveyton in Ekurhuleni.

Carlo (aka Nutti) started out his music career with a group called D-Style. He then helped form another group called Onus while studying music at the PWV Music College. He run a studio from his bedroom helping create demos for many upcoming musicians. He is a producer for Mina Nawe as well.
Manchild (aka Candid) began his career as a songwriter. He met Carlo while studing at PMV.

Freshlyground is a 7-piece ensemble with diverse cultural and musical backgrounds from South Africa. Their genre of music is Afro-fusion and is influenced by Afro-pop, jazz, classical and contemporary ‘urban’ music. They have been together since April 2002 and their debut album, 'Jika Jika' came out in 2003.

TKZee is a South African group made up of Tokollo Tshabalala, Kabelo Mabalane, and Zwai Bala. They are Kwaito artistes. Their music also borrowed from R&B, rap, hip hop, etc. The group has disbanded now with Kabelo having a successful music career while Tokollo and Zwai are in the entertainment industry.

Their debut release was in 1996 called Take it easy. In 1997, TKZee released Palafala, which sampled Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi. They then released Shibobo before the World Cup in 1998 in collaboration with Bafana Bafana striker, Benni McCarthy.

Kabelo Mabalane aka Bouga Luv is a Kwaito artiste from South Africa. He is an original member of TKZee (with Tokollo Tshabalala, and Zwai Bala)

TKZee is most famous for their pre-France 1998 World Cup song, Shibobo, which was done with Banana Banana's Benni McCarthy. The single became the fastest selling record in SA's music history with sales reaching more than 100 000 in just over a month. They released albums, Take it eezy, Halloween, Palafala and Trinity.

Jamali is a girl-group from South Africa, It is made up of Jacqui Carpede, Liesl Penniken, and Mariechan Luiters. Their music is mostly R&B and ventures into Afro-pop as well. They've been singing since childhood. They sing in Zulu and English.

They shined in South Africa's Coca Cola Pop Stars competition in 2004, finally losing out to Ghetto Lingo. They released their debut album, Jamali, shortly after.

Bonginkosi Mduduzi Dlamini aka Zola is a poet, actor, and musician from South Africa. He is one of the most popular Kwaito artistes. Bonginkosi grew up in the ghetto of Zola, in Soweto. He was abandoned by his father, leaving his mother to care for him and his older brother and sister.

He is conscious of his society and it shows a lot in his music, tackling issues like prostitution, statutory rape and responsible parenthood. He has also spoken out on a ban for small arms in South Africa.

Lira was born Lira Molapo in the East Rand eDaveyton (Ekurhuleni). Her music is a sweet mix of Afro-Jazz, RnB, soul among others.

After winning a competitions for young singers and songwriters, Lira started performing live at the age of 16, singing both cover versions and self-penned songs. In 2000 she was discovered by musician and producer Arthur Mafokate, who had her sign with his own record label, 999 Music. She wrote all the songs on her album that was called All My Love (2003) and released in May 2003.

    Tumi Molekane

Tumi Molekane is the lead artiste in Tumi and the Volume, a South African group. He was born in 1981 in Tanzania. He is a poet, musician and an emcee. He lived in Tanzania with his parents until 1992 when he arrived in Soweto.

The Volume is mostly made up of the musical component of Mozambiquan band 340ml. The Volume comprises musicians David Bergman (bass), Tiago Paulo (guitar), and Paulo Chibanga (drums) – performing alongside emcee Tumi Molekane.

Malaika is a pop group from South Africa made up of Jabulani Herald Ndaba (Jabulani), Matshediso Florence Mholo (Tshedi), and Bongani Kevin Nchang (Bongani). They consider their producer, Guffy Pilane, a fourth member. Their style can be grouped under kwaito, rock or Afro-pop. Their music is a perfect blend of post-kwaito, post-mbaqanga and neo-soul.

The group was formed out of the ashes of the kwaito outfit Stouters (The Mischiefs) and Godfrey “Guffy” Pilane was instrumental in its formation as well.

Soweto Gospel Choir

The Soweto Gospel Choir is one of the world's most famous choirs. It was formed to celebrate the unique and inspirational power of African gospel music.
The choir is made up of 26 of the best singers from churches in and around Soweto (Johannesburg). It is directed by David Mulovhedzi and Beverly Brye.

The choir raises funds around the clock for the charities, Nkosi's Haven and Nkosi's Haven Vugani amounting to over $210 thousand. These charities are mostly involved in aiding AIDS orphans organizations with food, school clothing, electricity and shelter.
