Wow, where from this Ronald Mayinja guy? I had never heard of him but I know for sure, I am declaring a take-everyone-hostage search for his Africa song. Kiwani got a lot of hype but I guess Bobi Wine lost out there. Will be looking for the criteria for adjuging the winners as well. The PAM awards are like the Ghana music awards eh, you win song of the year and then every single category you are nominated in is yours. I hate that :-)
I totally agree with Henry Tigan winning best new artiste. I mean he featured Marlon Asher of all people and My country is the rockas! I may be biased here but the best female artiste award was for Juliana, she IS the best! African Whitney Houston for rizzle like someone said.
I guess people in Uganda don't think the Kube video by EABC is that good. As much as I like Blu3, I don't think the Burrn video was special at all, and I think Kanyimbe should have won here. It's simple but it does the job :-D I realy like Steve Jean, am surprised he didn't win audio producer of the year, maybe he's been overtaken. I know there's an Utake anthem by A-Y, Jua Cali and Babaluku, but who is Bataka Underground? Rocky Giant made some comeback eh, scooping the best hip hop artiste award.
Hmm, so Jose Chameleone did not get a single award but he got an MTV award nomination? What is the meaning of this? Am I feeling a love lost from Ugandans? Julio, tell me something. Glad Bebe Cool won something and Bobi Wine took the awards from the Chameleone man. I know the media would make a meal of this. Peter Miles took the ragga award, I guess they had one eye on his Channel O award.
Someone requested for Wilson Bugembe lyrics, that's all the luck he needed to ride to the PAM awards. Ndibeera Naawe is a beautiful song but am wondering how Kibaluma didn't get nominated. Too bad Michael Ross had to lose out to Juliana for the best R&B artiste. I love the best live band awards, every country should follow suit.
I need to listen to some more Jua Cali simply because he won best Kenyan male artiste over Wyre. Ogopa Deejays' Amani seems to be the biggest female artiste in Kenya even though Nikki and Pam may have something to say about that. Dunno much about the Rwandan musicians. Professor J must have won because of his Sivyo Ndivyo hit with Jose Chameleone. Lady Jay Dee also won which is well deserved, Siku hazigandi dey beeeeeee!
Ballroom dancing legend from Uganda? Hmm, he must be a pearl indeed, haven't seen many Africans doing ballroom dancing.
