Drum roll please! Welcome South Africa's newest and youngest superstar! In-cha. Incha is South Africa's answer to Miri Ben-Ari, only Miri is like 20 years older than this prodigy. In-Cha is South Africa’s very own self-proclaimed Violin Superstar. She's been described as the most exciting development in South African music. She started playing the violin at age 6 and is now making her own album on the back of this instrument. Think of the other African musicians who've made names by playing one instrument or the other. The drum, mbira, xylophone, kologo; here is one who is playing an instrument we may not identify as African. You remember the Chinese Makossa man? In-cha may be Chinese, but South Africa claims her as one of her own.
Incha started playing the piano at the age of 4, but fell in love with the violin after going to a concert with her mom at the age of 6. Her mom enrolled her in private tuition lessons for her with the renowned Professor Vincenzo Lo Castro.
Her album called Violin Superstar features Danny K, Hip Hop Pantsula, Jae, Gutta Boyz, Ofentse, etc. The top tunes are Funky tunes featuring DJ Tira (Durban's Finest) and Bug Nuz, Crazy Party featuring Danny K and HHP (Jabba), Dance With Me featuring Jae, and Violin Superstar. She also featured on singles by Jae and Danny K. She also has a single called Hold Your Tongue featuring Flo-rida (Yes, the guy who did Low, low, low) and rap group Gutta Boyz, in the United States.
