Sidney says no party can use his song o -

One of Ghana’s talented hip life artistes, Sidney Berima Ofori, whose latest song “Africa Money Oga de chop am waawaa” has caused a stir in political circles, has indicated that he would not allow any political party to use the song for this year’s elections.

Reports reaching DAILY GUIDE indicate that certain political figures had bagged large sums of US dollars to influence Sidney to sell the song to them to be used as their official campaign song for this year’s elections.

I don't think he says "wonna money". Sounds more like "on a money", which in French means "we have money".
That "Fouka Fouka" you hear is a popular saying (accompanied with a dance move which consists in "punching" the air) from Coupe Decale in Cote d'Ivoire. My guess is it was included as a shout out to our neighbors from the West.
The part where he says "Everyday for thief, one day for chef", he could actually be saying "chef" which is French for "chief" . In our francophone African states, this title is usually reserved to police officers. All in all, kudos for integrating French in the song and thank you guys for providing us with the lyrics.

I think he says wonna money tho - which in Ghanaian pidgin means 'our money'. The best way to find out is to ask Barima himself, let's see if we can pull that off.

Also, the chef part, I kinda agree with you. Chef means chief in Pidgin as well - and it does work for sheriff too.

Kwaku Bonsam went on air precisely Channel R’s entertainment program called Total Entertainment 205 to accused Sidney of stealing their song on their compilation and threatened to beat him up.
