See me so is the song of the year, every single club I go to in Ghana plays it, the song is great and the lyrics are touching that you can't help but sing along
i love alhaji alhaji, that song is sooo addictive and great but i got to vote for magic system, they are the best and they never make bad music
we all know the best African music is from the french speaking countries
it's good to see freshlyground's pot belly here, you know they are biggest African group now right?
they even won an award in Nigeria recently for best African musician/group
i guess a lot of you have not heard about them or else they should be winning this poll
Alhaji (Jeff Bogologobo/DJ Ramatoulaye) - Cote D'Ivoire
Banjuka jo (DNA/Dennis Kaggia) - Kenya
C'est dans la jolie (Mokobe, Patson) - Mali
Cinderella (Alikiba, Spince) - Tanzania

On est ensemble (Kaysha) - DR Congo
Pot belly (Freshlyground) - South Africa
See me so (2Face Idibia) - Nigeria
Yahooze (Olu Maintain) - Nigeria
the best song was ki dit mie by magic system, it was a huge hit in france and all over french speaking countries
magic system is the best in africa, remeber premier gaou?
see me so is the best african song right now
I really like this song because it has a really good anti drug message. Gazza is talented, he does many things for his community, he will not bend on his morales just so he can sell more albums. The children love him and so do I. This song is amazing and the video for it is brilliant and very well done.
even though I am not from Nigeria, I voted for See me so by Tuface Idibia. It is such a great song and has some great messages.
We should see ourselves as brothers and sister because without each other, we are nothing. The song has a great beat to match it
I like the songs that are in this poll. but what about 'do me' by p-square? it is such a hot song and Africans from all over love it
they are always requesting it in parties too
'Do me' came out late last year and it has been enjoying most of its airplay in 2008 so it will run for the 2008 award.
the best song was see me so by 2face idibia but i also love magic system's new track
Wow, the Nigerians are running things in this poll - Yahooze!
look at Olu Maintain maintaining his lead!
It is being closely marked by Alhaji from Cote d'Ivoire and See me so from 2Face.
Let's see if they can catch up
In the meantime, it's Friday and you know what it is, Yahooze - the hustling don stop
Ahem
Why is it always West Africa that's dominating the polls? Hmm, i think this might be a case of who comes on the site more! And why isnt "Never change my mind" by malaika on this list?????
Anyhow, i loved yahooze! never change my mind! jabba! and potbelly!
:)
there are a lot of West Africans too, Nigeria alone is 130 million plus.
It's not surprising the other Nigerian songs are the ones trailing Yahooze for the most part too.
About Never change my mind, I was debating adding Loyiso's I want you or Jozi's What with the attitude instead. I think they may have been more popular but I may be wrong. Pot belly needs more votes! And I don't know if many people would know about Gazza's Mokasie either.
Anyway, we are seeing the contenders for the 'other' position.
all these songs were big hits but i will go for Why me by D'Banj,
how can you not have the koko master?
this guy is MTV best
Kanyimbe was the best song, I adore Juliana and her music.
I searched the site, when are we getting Kanyimbe lyrics?
Why me was on the calendar year for 2006. See the 2006 poll here
As for Kanyimbe lyrics, we need someone literate in Luganda to do them and we are working on it, it will take some time
Thanks for your patience and keep supporting us
Africa Money: came out late last year one of da biggest tunes repping ghana @ partys!
Africa money is in the running for 2008. It came out late last year but will be in the 2008 category. It's being played at many Ghanaian parties and the sound really cuts across, every other African loves it. I don't know if it's been heard that much outside of the West African community.
