Rex Omar's real name is Rex Owusu Marfo and he was part of the original Nakorex crew with Amandzeba Nat Brew and Akosua Agyepong. He is one of the biggest highlife and afro-pop acts from Ghana and has also done gospel and traditional music in the past.

He performs regularly across the globe with his band nu-Ashanty in an attempt to market Ghanaian music worldwide. He has been able to link up with big record labels which has put him in a "class of his own".

He is also at the forefront of helping create an efficient and effective Ghanaian music industry, weeding out piracy and championing the voices and concerns of Ghanaian musicians.
