be it nigerian .angolan.zimbabwean music i would like to speak about the greatest african legend

great question merenaam. a lot of things come into play here, who is the most famous, most popular, won the most awards etc.

If I was forced to decide, I will probably say Fela Kuti. But it's very very close, Angelique Kidjo is in the reckoning, so is Salif Keita, Youssou Ndour, Miriam Makeba, even Manu Dibango.

Wonder what other people think, let's know

We may have to organize a poll for this one, would be interesting to see who wins.

I saw Femi Kuti perform once and he was marvelous but it will be very hard to upstage his father you know.

Papa Wemba is around, he's still making music and his last album was called Bravo l'Artiste. I don't know much about Khadja Nin so I can't say much about what she's been doing recently.

May Lebo M, Brenda Fassie and Lucky Dube all rest in peace.
