Her passion for writing were born when she was only 14 years old.

This Windhoek based RnB/Soul singer-songwriter, first made her entrance onto the Namibian music scene in 1995 along side Bollie Mootseng (popular Namibian singer and television producer) and T.C (now member of the Kalaharians) with the ever popular song ‘Ibababye ja

She then dropped the music scene and spent more attention on her poetry and theatre through the now defunct Bricks Community Project. In 2001, she came back and became a member of the music group (X-PLODE), with members Jaicee James and Lizell Swartz. With this group Christi performed at events such as (World Music Day 2001-2004, UNAM Cultural Festival – 2002-2003, Miss NauDam Agriculture College 2003, Television Game Shows, Windhoek Festival and at the Warehouse. This trio brought us the popular songs Silent Words which highlights the issue of domestic violence emphasising the chorus.

The next song Tangy Tangy Thang, became just as popular and just as the above song, was nominated in 2003 in the category Best RnB/Female and Best Soul – of the Sanlam Namibia Music Awards. Sadly in 2004 the group ceased to exist, but Jaicee and Christi continued on their own solo projects.

She was a presenter on Soul Makhosa (2002-2003) a Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) music show, where she acted under the pseudonym ‘Lady Makhosa,’ bringing local music, at its best, to the masses. In 2005 she made it on the cover of the June edition of the Sister Namibia Magazine making the headlines for being committed to the arts and being passionate about her poetry. Also in 2003, she joined the team who brought us the first Sanlam Namibia Music Awards, an event that has had a remarkable role to play in the current growth of the Namibian music industry and has made many local artists house-hold names.

Also in 2005, Christi released her first ever single (The Radio Will Die) as a solo artist, under the label RV Inc. The intention was never to sell it, but to hand it out to the public to test whether her music has an audience. Christi made 200 copies of this single and they all moved as fast as hot cakes. People were eager to win themselves copies on radio and radio stations in Windhoek eagerly gave Christi space as this venture attracted listeners. She also acted in the NBC local drama (Big City) as a young lawyer named “Ndiri” having to deal with community disputes as well as her unhealthy relationship choices.

In 2006 she lent her voice to the 2006 Desert Soul HIV and AIDS radio production playing the character sister Gerty who took us through her suffering and happiness as she learned to live with an HIV positive husband. The song ‘The Radio Will Die’ in 2006 became part of a compilation CD of RV Inc and was distributed internationally on the internet through Nomadix Wax on Calabash music and is still available for download.

Her 2008 album “I FOUND MY RHYTHM” is her first full-length Album and is released under her production and publishing company, AfroChica Entertainment. The album hit the streets of Namibia on the 13th of May. The album is also distributed via the USA through “the respectable and notoriously known” CD Baby.

She also produced his popular music video “You and I belong” under her production & publishing company AfroChica Entertainment.
