Journalist: Amakye Dede, have you sang an English song?
Amakye Dede: Oh yes, I have.
Journalist: Which one?
Amakye Dede: The song was called Iron boy.
Don't you just love Abrantie? I love this song a lot.
lol at Aseidu, I've heard that joke before too. I think Amakye Dede had an all-English song before though, I'll try find it and let you know
PS: what is the Twi word for Iron? and does anyone know where Iron Boy came from or Amakye Dede made it up?
Amakye Dede's english song is called Broken promises.
Iron = dadeɛ/dadie
metal = dadeɛ
Iron boy was in existenc but he made it popular
it means a strong or tough lad/guy
classic highlife from Ghana, I miss this kind of music
has amakye dede retired? He needs to be honoured for his great music over the years
thank you for the lyrics, I love your work guys
I want to know what has happened to Amakye Dede too. I love the highlife music from him, Yankson, Crentsil, Pozo Hayes, Amarh Pino, etc
Those were the great times of the 90's when we had the band shows on TV, music for your dancing feet, Star Workers Rendezvous, and more.
The last time Amakye Dede was in the news was when he performed at East Legon-based Hotel Angelica with Nigeria born Afro beat star, Dede Mbiatu. Dede Mbiatu was one of the judges on the popular West African Idols contest together with Abrewa Nana.
He is still performing with his super high Kings band. He also has a new album coming out so stay tuned to Museke.
s would have the opportunity to see that what Fela represented was original.
