Nameless is back again with Sinzia

Nameless
Nameless aka David Mathenge is back in the spotlight after the release of the single, Sinzia. Sinzia in Swahili means "falling asleep/day dreaming" and the chorus "nasinzia nikikuwaza" translates as "I'm thinking of you as I fall asleep". This is a slow-paced song, which is also quite different from hits like Ninanoki, Wailai, Juju and Boomba train. David is a great performer as well, having seen him live in the United States once. I think Ninanoki was the first East African song I got used to.

The song has some very funny lyrics and a great beat (Ogopa Deejays does it again). Some of the lines are "Oh, how I wish I were your saliva, so I could taste your lips whenever" and "I wish I were your shoe, I'd have such a beautiful view. This comes from the man who gave us "why are you playing with my psychology, when I am liking your biology" (Wailai) and "if you like me and what you see, I can organize some privacy" (Deadley). Ultimately, he makes music with great hooks that are easy to catch on to. It has already won a number of Kenya music awards and is gunning for further laurels internationally. It's already reached West Africa and is enjoying good airplay there.

I also admire the work Ogopa Deejays has been doing in Kenya with production et al. They have also produced Amani, Wahu (Nameless' lover), Kleptomaniacs, Mr Lenny - Lenson Njuki - (did Juju with Nameless) and Tattuu. Some of their works have been used by other artistes (Tic Tac's Kwani Kwani borrowed heavily with Tattuu's Teso - with the necessary dialogue and copyrighting while a South African group, Jamali used Nameless' Maisha for one of their songs and is in trouble.)

The Sinzia video is below.

Sinzia lyrics is finally here. Smile

I think it would be lekker (cool) if people talked about what it is about Sinzia that they love...funny lyrics, relatable, the beat, etc?
The song reminds me of all those old school days in Swaziland when guys would come up with the funniest slogans to prove their "love" for you...what, from "you are my medulla oblongata tied to my hypothalamus. i cannot function without you" to "seeing you smile reminded me of 4 birds sitting on a jacaranda tree spelling out the word "love" ". I think any girl who grew up in Africa can relate! :-)
