Best sound engineer in Ghana
My Contribution to the Best Sound Engineer in Ghana debate.
I must admit that it hasn't been easy trying to pronounce one top notch sound engineer as the best among all. I'm sure if you guys take away your personal biases, you'll probably feel the same way i feel. My all time best will probably be Jay Q because i happen to like several tracks he has produced as my all time favourites. In other words, you guys probably share the same sentiments about the sound engineer you chose as your all time best probably because there are several tracks they have produced that fancy you most but not necessarily the best among all.
What i have observed among all the sound engineers after studying all their tunes for a while is, they are all very well vested with variety of tunes, but all fall victims to the easy temptation of recycling same rhythm. Bare with me for minute and you'll prabably grasp my gist here.

In-cha the violin superstar!
Drum roll please! Welcome South Africa's newest and youngest superstar! In-cha. Incha is South Africa's answer to Miri Ben-Ari, only Miri is like 20 years older than this prodigy. In-Cha is South Africa’s very own self-proclaimed Violin Superstar. She's been described as the most exciting development in South African music. She started playing the violin at age 6 and is now making her own album on the back of this instrument. Think of the other African musicians who've made names by playing one instrument or the other. The drum, mbira, xylophone, kologo; here is one who is playing an instrument we may not identify as African. You remember the Chinese Makossa man? In-cha may be Chinese, but South Africa claims her as one of her own.
Richie the beatmaker! You know the name right?
There are many sound engineers in Ghana and they have been part and parcel of the success that hiplife has enjoyed through the years. These beat makers have varied styles and different training and several influences. Some of us have digitized the adowa beats, recorded the jama tunes that we so loved during our school days and some have also incorporated foreign rhythms into our musical landscape. There is one beat maker on the block who is beginning to carve a niche for himself as one to watch for the future as Ghanaian music grows. You know the name right?
