Does anyone know where we can see Akon's Mama Africa video? Because according to this news and that news, a video was shot. The video was shot by Gil Green on location in various African countries in October 2006. Either way many fans of Akon's Mama Africa have made videos and the most popular one is posted below. Do you also know Akon (aka Aliuane Badara Thiam) has a song called Senegal? It doesn't have a video but you can listen to it on Youtube as well. Lyrics for Mama Africa and Senegal are both posted below.

Recently, Museke.com interviewed Youssoupha Sidibie, a Senegalese musician who plays West African kora/harp music. Check out his CD Sacred Sound at CDBaby.

Museke: How is everything?
Youssoupha: Very Good, Thank you.

Museke: Can you tell us about your background and family?
Youssoupha: My grand-father was from the Wassulu tribe of Mali, he immigrated to Senegal, and started a family. I was born in Dakar the capital of Senegal, in a Family of 8 children.

Viviane Chichid (formerly known as Viviane Ndour) is often referred to as the Queen of Mbalax. Mbalax is a Senegalese music genre. She is well known for her blends of Mbalax, R&B, pop and hip hop. She is a Kora nominated artiste who has toured worldwide. She recently featured on Mokobe's hit called Safari.

3GGA de son vrai nom Maam Waali Dione est née à Cologne en Allemagne. Il rejoint sa famille aux Etats Unis et en Angleterre ou il y perfectionne son Anglais.
A 15 ans, pour des raisons familiales, il part vivre dans son pays d’origine le Sénégal ou il y apprend le woolof et le Français.

Il évolue entre le sport (Haut gradé en karaté – DO style Shotokan et licensié pendant 6 ans en D1 de la ligue du Basketball Sénégalais au sein du
Club Diarraf ), les études ( bac+ 2 ans d’universitée) et la musique
(il devient autodidacte grâce cesfréquentations dans le milieu des studios et du spectacle.)

Nigeria's version of the Black Eyed Peas (as someone put it) are for real. B-Eazy, Mr. Muyo, Titi and DJ TnT are still riding high on the back of their single, Naija Until I die but they are starting to hang with some bigger shots in the music industry. They have a track called Streetz which features Akon, one of the biggest artistes worldwide by way of Senegal.

Streetz is not very different from typical hip hop songs and personally, I just heard about it. Maybe with a music video, it could blow up some more, and Amplifyd could get some more publicity. Talking about music videos, I still haven't seen the video for Naija Until I die even though I have seen a video of the music video shoot :-)
