The much-anticipated CD “Sika Ye” from Ghana’s Golden voice “Felix Owusu aka Qkesi is finally going to be released these holidays. The release date for the CD is November 23rd 2008; Sputnic Erawoc CEO of SMG (Sputnic Music Group) Atlanta was at hand to handle questions from the press for his newly signed Artist.

Felix, who has been quiet from the music scene for a while decided to take some time out to spend and enjoy life with his wife and 3 boys. Felix leaves in Atlanta and still writes some of the best songs from an African Artist; he has been working on this CD for roughly 2 years with some of Ghana’s best musicians.

After 2 years, 6 cities and 3 countries we have completed and released the latest Soulfège record “Take Back the Mic.” For a long time we’ve used the tag line “it’s more than music…it’s a movement.” Well if you listen to the record you’ll start to get an idea of what we mean. With contributions from a gang of musicians, producers and engineers representing expertise in everything from Rock to Dancehall we set out to create a soundtrack to the kind of world we want to live in.

Like most rap artists around the globe, Teria Yarhere a.k.a Mtrill knew that he had the tendencies of putting words together to form rhymes before he ever knew he could rap. So when he embarked on a mission of writing lyrics for his elder brother, little did he know that he was laying a foundation for a career that will bring him this far. Born into the family of Mr and Mrs Yarhere on the 18th of May 1979,Mayjah thrill joined the hip hop movement when he was in Federal Government College Odogbolu. Although he knew how to rap, he was never on the fore front, instead he began exerting his energy into organizing hip hop shows.

Styl-Plus, one of Nigeria's best groups, is out again. It seems they release albums every two years or so. I have heard a few singles and this album is bound to do as well if not better as the last one (Expressions). The name of the album is called "Back and better" and the first two singles are Four Years (audio and lyrics here) and I no want trouble. One of my favorite rappers in Ghana is Okyeame Kwame aka the Rap Doctor. After the interview I had with him, I may be tempted to say he is pushing for the title of ‘favorite’ period. He is already known as one of the best lyricists in Ghana and is one of the most featured rappers in the country. He has the honour of being the rapper featured on Daddy Lumba’s remix, Obi ate me so bo. Apart from Lumba’s songs with Mr. Borax, he had never featured a rapper. Such is the pedigree of the old KASS boy who is one-half of famed rap duo, Akyeame.

Okyeame Kwame’s latest album is called M’anwensem. It is the Twi translation of ‘my poetry’. Not many people liken poetry to music. I am a pretty good poet but have not been able to write any good music. Okyeame Kwame can do both and is even merging them. He calls the album his poetry and it conveys his thoughts. Even the songs are written in stanzas and not choruses, hooks and verses like most songs are written. Quame Nsiah Appau is bringing something new and I believe he will leave a legacy with this effort. His Bohyeba album announced his arrival with hit songs like Mate ahwe ne do mu (I have fallen into her love), the remix with Daasebre Gyamenah and Bradez, Hello Maame, Te m’ase (understand me) and Ghana Mmaa (Ghanaian women), while his critically acclaimed single on Obrafour’s Execution Diary called Opabeni enjoyed massive airplay.

Lord Kenya is one of Ghana's most foremost rappers. He's been in the game for almost 10 years and was one of the hiplifers who helped hiplife break into the limelight. He was the first one to win the most coveted award at the Ghana Music Awards and for a long time, was on top. After being displaced at the top, he is out with a bang with his seventh album. He was 'born again' in 2006, two years on, the 'Kenyacal' wants to tell everyone that 'God dey'.

King Ayisoba’s new album, ‘The whole world’ is bound to be an international hit. In fact, Pidgen Music is coming out with two different albums. One would be in his local dialect and English and would be packaged for the international market. The second one would have some Twi content, would be more comedic and entertaining and is geared for the Ghanaian music scene.
