Zamajobe Sithole was was born in Frankfort on the 19th of February and raised in Vosloorus, South Africa. She is a jazz artist from South Africa whose music also can fall under R&B, Afro-pop and Afro-fusion.
She is a native of Frankfort (Free State province). She grew up in Vosloorus singing with the local choir from age nine. Her mentor was Pastor Benjamin Dube, a famous gospel musician. She joined his church when she was 8 and later sang for the church and joined the choir. She grew up listening to funk, gospel, jazz, Afro-pop, etc. She started playing the guitar (at 17). She writes her own songs. She also spent a year doing Latin American dancing professionally
She took place in the 2003 Pop Idols contest and placed in the Top 10. She once won Miss Vosloorus and was a top 10 finalist for Miss Gauteng and even won the first ever Miss Colin Mann primary (school).
Her debut album, Ndawo Yami, has been hailed as groundbreaking and remarkable. The album sold more than 25 000 (gold status in South Africa). She is produced by Sony BMG Music Entertainment/Giant Steps label. Her debut album was done at the Jazzworx Studio in Randburg, Gauteng. She has gone on to win countless awards and nominations.
