Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie sang in Swahili? Hmm, interesting. Like Uyoga sings in this song, Swahili may very well be the language of Africa. :-)
It is not the most widely spoken though, I think Arabic wins that prize.
Anyway, I like this song and when I am in Kenya, I will be sure to sing along with the Kenyans when they welcome me.
Ndiyo, Michael Jackson kaimba Kiswahili. It is from Liberian girl, there is some Swahili in there. The lyrics are around, but they butchered the Swahili part.
It should be 'Nakupenda pia, nakutaka pia, mpenzi we' meaning "I love you, and I want you, my dear"
Swahili is the best, don't hate.
Hmm, so Wacko Jacko, erm I mean Michael Jackson, sang in Swahili in a song called Liberian girl?
Did he think that Liberians speak Swahili too?
Talk about the miseducation of American musicians :-)
Anyway, Swahili rocks!
Swahili is the best. I love this song so much
