Emmerson Amidu Bockarie is a Sierra Leonian musician, and song writer. His music borrows from various genres - local beats, hip hop, calypso, reggae, etc.
He is famous for his political songs which have made him very popular in his country.

His first album also targeted corrupt and selfish officials (Borbor bele). His song 2 Fut Arata, which means two-footed rats, likened candidates in Sierra Leone's upcoming presidential race to rats - trying to get elected by any means necessary. He's been called a 'message musician'. He is seen as someone instrumental in raising the awareness of the situation in Sierra Leone and openly challenging the Sierra Leone government to improve the country's deplorable conditions.
He doesn't make only politically-themed and has succeeded doing more secular songs, like Tutu party, which was a big hit.

Emmerson sings mostly in Krio.

Some of his popular songs are Swegbe, Sugar meresin, Jonki boy, Borbor pain, Kumbaya, Enemy of progress, Watching you, etc

Emmerson is a great musician that has contributed a lot to the development our Country Sierra Leone and this has actually helped both the people and the leaders to keep their steps withing check..But i still think his latest song "WE DAE WAP" which sounds as a warning to the newly elected Government is rather impromptu and much sounds like an insult to the new president ... whilst you do well for us i will be happy if you are properly advised before releasing your songs...

The latest musical hit that is rocking the radio airwaves and is being played in all the poda-poda buses, taxis and private vehicles as well as in the homes of Sierra Leoneans is that of Emmerson Bockarie, the Sierra Leonean musical superstar who shot to fame with hits like, Borboh Belleh and Two Foot Arata that were both against the perceived corruption in the erstwhile SLPP Government of former President Tejan Kabbah. This latest song by Emmerson has a refrain in the local Krio parlance which goes: "If Oonar Shake, We Go Wap Oh" [TRANSLATED: If you make a false move, we will deal with you].

The song starts off by congratulating His Excellency for winning the elections and assures him that the people were ready to "bato" [cooperate with] him. It then proceeds to warn him in no uncertain terms that just as the musicians and the people railed against the supposedly corrupt SLPP Government of former President Kabbah, so also would they not hesitate to go against the new APC Government of Ernest Koroma.

Emmerson sings of how human beings can change into thieving rats when they get elected and opines that was what happened to Kabbah’s Government. He then warns of dire consequences "If you change pan we lekkeh Kabbah..."
