Akon has totally disappeared from the countdown after being #2 last week. Nigeria's DJ Jimmy Jatt is now the highest ranked African. Akon does make an appearance with Bone, Thugz and Harmony.

where is Redsan on this list? dat boy's touch video is one of the best in Africa. also I think this countdown should be for the African musicians only
Redsan's video is one of the best and has so much crossover appeal I don't understand why it's not making its way up on the charts. I also understand MTV Base is trying to use its Africa channel not only to promote African music and musicians but it's also an avenue for them to broadcast the videos that make them the big bucks (like those from Beyonce, R. Kelly, Justin Timberlake, etc).
However, I believe this chart show should be exclusive to African music videos. Maybe we can be happy about this development anyway, at least Tic Tac, Danny K and Tuface Idibia can say they are rubbing shoulders with Ne-Yo, R. Kelly, Akon and Justin Timberlake. That's something eh?

Good point, Pk. I think we should report the whole countdown though, I think it is a good benchmark to compare African songs and videos to others from around the world (in this case American). There is an exclusive African chart so that has been addressed by MTVBase I guess.
