    Nazizi Hirji, Kevin Waire

Necessary Noize is a Kenyan hip hop and reggae group. It was originally made up of Nazizi Hirji aka First Lady, Kevin (Wyre) Waire aka Love Child, and Bamzigi. Bamzigi ans Nazizi are rappers while Wyre is a singer. Bamzigi left the group due to personal and label disputes. They also make dancehall, R&B and ragga tracks. They sing in both English and Swahili. They have won several awards, as a group and as solo artistes, making them one of the most successful East African group of musicians.

Necessary Noize was formed in October 2000. Their debut self-titled debut album came out in early 2001 under Audio Vault Studios (now Blu Zebra). Their 1st single Clang Clang was later dubbed as Nairobi's anthem. Their first reggae single Jah Children won the song of the year in Tanzania and they were very popular in East Africa. After the success of the debut, they released their second album called Necessary Noize II in 2004. Both albums were produced by Tedd Josiah.

They have formed East Africa Reggae Bashment Crew with Bebe Cool from Uganda. They also have collaborated with the Tanzanian group Gangwe Mobb with 'Tunajirusha"'hit. Mizchif from Zimbabwe is a guest on the Necessary Noize debut album.

They are appreciated for their socially conscious lyrics that deal with issues affecting youth such as AIDS, drugs and politics. They are seen as an antidote to the over-commercialization of urban music in Kenya.

Wyre released his debut solo album in 2006 called the 'Definition of a Lovechild'.
It had great songs like Chuki, Make a choice, She says dat, Usuhuba, Sikiza, Definations.

The East Africa Bashment Crew (EABC) released a number of singles which enjoyed major airplay like Africa Unite, Kube, etc.

Hmm, so I know a Somalian whose last name is Hirsi, it's close to Hirji so maybe Nazizi may have some Somalian roots. Can't say the same about Wyre though, I believe he is Kenyan through and through.
