Tinny's real name is Nii Addo Quaynor and he is also known as Aletse Kankpe. He is also known as Fire Starter, Buffalo soldier and Dreadlock Kankpe, or popularly known as Sexy Tinny.
He mentions 'Ricky Naa Badu Nakutso bi' in honour of his parents, Ricky Tetteh Quaynor and Cristie-Lee Naa Badu Quaynor
He is one of Ghana's premier Ga rappers. He has started his own record label called Kankpe records.
Some of his hit songs include Makola Kwakwe, Angelina, Ofee dull, Maamle, Nigbee yee yoo, Akwei Polo, Wani Chiki, Ko duade, Kuntu ahaa, Passion of the Christ, Krokro no, Ehe hia waa, Aletse Ogboo, Kaabu ame, and Dzormo.
While he was at Osu Salem JSS, he formed a group by name Nature and Agony where they did mostly English and Twi songs. Tinny performed at places like Kiddafest and Fun World before he won a competition organized by 'Ecstasy Promotions'. He got his big break after he secured a deal with OM Studios (Abraham Ohene-Djan) through Hammer (Edward Osei Poku of the Last 2 fame). His debut album, Makola Kwakwe, made him a sensation as he scored features on many other artistes' tracks, especially Obrafour's Oye Ohene remix, which is hailed as one of the best hiplife remixes ever.
His second album, Akwei Polo didn't do as well as the first even though he enjoyed some success with Hejo Ejorko (I believe I can fly) which he did for Obrafour's Execution Diary compilation. One of his songs, Aletse, generated controversy because it apparently dissed Jay Q (a sound producer) and Buk Bak (a premier Ga rap group).
His third album, Kaabu ame, came out in 2007. It was more successful than his second album and he won a fans' vote to have his video shot as part of an MTVBase promotion.

I finally get to see the face behind the music from just browsing around the net. Just or better than i thought. I love your music. Its not the easiest finding a gha singer unlike twi. Gha is not the most rhymeable language. So i'm pretty estatic when i find 1. Thanks for Sharing. Hopefully 1 day i'll be home again to really stick around as i want to. Music, dance, and Art are the best Expressions... keep it up People. And do something for the world and not just yorselves. That is what we'r here for. To express love and understand eachother from all angles. O:-)
Tinny is a talented rapper, and I can understand the rhyming difficulties in Ga. There are more Ga rappers these days, so maybe it is not that difficult after all.
