Blaq Suede - new Ghanaian ragga group

I heard about Blaq Suede recently through the Ghanaian movie, 'Run baby run'. They made the soundtrack for the movie and have a video for the song too. They also have been featuring in the Ghanaian media and I happened to catch them again on TV Africa's entertainment programme as well. They have the feel of a 5Five or Wutah and I am confident we'll be hearing more about them soon.

'Run Baby run' is one of the most successful recent Ghanaian movies. It had some rave reviews and was shown to the public when it was first released. It was done by Revele Productions, producers of Home Sweet Home, a television series. It features actors and actresses like Kofi Bucknor, Rama Brew, Emmanuel Apea, Jackie Appiah, among others. The acting was great and the picture and sound quality were great too. The story was good but the ending was a little suspect. It has scenes shot in Tamale, Kumasi, Accra and London - no be now :-)

Blaq Suede's video for the movie featured some scenes from the movie and the regular scenes you see in Ghanaian secular music videos these days. Pool scenes, etc, etc. The song is okay, but I don't think they will be pushing it as a serious single. Some of their other songs include 'I be somebody', 'Total Stranger', 'My love'.

It seems Richie may be involved in their music too.
