Nana Wiafe Asante-Mensah, popularly known as A.S.E.M. is a hip hop artiste from Ghana. He is the youngest of five boys and was born in Cape Coast in Ghana's Central Region.
His inspiration comes from his admiration for artistes such as K.K. Kabobo, Reggie Rockstone, Kris Kross and Ludacris.
Around 6, his family settled in Accra and he attended St. John’s basic schools in Achimota. He used to sneak into his family’s boys’ quarters to bond with his much older brothers as they listened to hip-hop music and he developed a strong passion for music.
He proceeded to St. Peters Secondary School in Nkwatia (Eastern Region) where he nurtured his talent.
Together with these promising rappers he formed a group which they tagged the ‘Frontliners'. They disbanded after secondary school as they went their separate ways pursuing their education. But with the help of Richie, who was then scouting for talent to add to the music empire he was trying to build, A.S.E.M. rediscovered himself and turned out a whole new style as the newest and hottest artiste with Lynx Entertainment.
He is presently at the Ghana Institute of Journalism studying communication studies.
Some of his songs include Pigaro, Lickle girl, It's over, Ohemaa, AgyekE, Agyei, etc
Song lyrics
Better late than never (2008)
Give me blow

A S E M asem!
love this dude, he is the truth
2008 is his year, Persco boys all the way
A S E M asem!!!!!! this guy is going to revolutionise Ghana music just like Reggie, I called it so you mark it down
Wobble said so
Asem is truly the next big thing in Ghana. He is coming out at a right time, right in the midst of a crunk, rap, hip hop and similar styles gaining prominence. Blessed by Richie's beats, Asem is poised to break. I see his music more of Ghanaian hip hop, given the kind of beats he's been rapping on, I am yet to see if he can flow as well as he did on Give me blow on more traditional beat like a jama one or even one of Appietus' signature instrumentals.
another big track by asem
For real you are killing it right now with your new single and it's so sick that I'm so much with you Bro. My only reservation is if you gonna get the airplay you deserve. I don't think the track is offensive but, I guess you cannot ignore how the rest of the country feel. So I guess you'll have to drop an edited version. On the real if you need any suggestions then, drop the "fa wo tw-, tw-, tw-, twedee..." and replace it with "fa wo wo, wo, wo, twedee..." I'm quite sure that will make it a huge hit Bro. Anyway, you don't need me so just do your thing ok?
Holla at yo boy
Mega Don
Mega Don, Asem's single is ruling the charts in Ghana, after some huge success in the underground. It's started getting more radio airplay and it features on Citi Fm's countdown and our own Museke countdown as well.
Did you hear the remix? That one is even more controversial. You know Asem is talking a blow/knock as in twEdeE though, you know.
The song is hot either way though. Will let you know if I find any edited version.
A S E M YOU THE BEST KEEP IT UP AND I WILL ONEDAY COME TO GHANA AND MAKE YOU JOIN THE CCASH MONEY SQUARD
