    Rexford Kojo Amoah

Shatta Rako was born Rexford Kojo Amoah. His parents are Justice Charles Amoah and Ms. Mercy Mensah. He is a ragga/dancehall artiste from Ghana.

Rako comes from his initials – Rexford Amoah Kojo while Shatta means shooter, as a gun man.

He attended CRIG primary in New Tafo, and then went on to Adisadel college in Cape Coast. He gained admission to KNUST (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology) as part of the graduating class of 2003. He started performing in Adisadel (Adisco), on stage and at shows. He went to study Graphic Design at KNUST (Tech) where he recorded a song called Tina, a tribute to his lost sister.

He released his debut album in 2005 called Nfoni. His second album was released in 2008 and is called Redefined.

Some of his songs include I love you bad, Tina, Galzdemlova, Fakye, Fa ma me, Bohye, So me mu, Request line, Give it to me, etc
