Who do you think should win in the various categories? As usual, Francophone Africa is left out but the Lusophones are nominated. Let's see how this plays out.

Before I say anything, I hope the awards would not be given out purely on votes counted in by sms etc but some judges would have a say.
For the best male video, I think Jabba (HHP) may be a front runner here. Wind am well is a great song but I will cast my vote for Simba (Lovely day is an awesome with a great video!).
KB has been making a lot of waves lately, and the last time I checked she was leading the Channel O Radio countdown. How isn't Asa nominated here though? Out of the nominees, I think KB would win but I will vote for Sasha. That Adara video is hot. It's also nice to see Becca nominated, even though I think her 'U lied to me' or 'I love you' videos should have been the ones nominated. In fact all the ladies nominated are great.
I hardly know any of the newcomers nominated. Buffalo Souljah is a cool name and we are starved of Zimbabwean musicians other than Tuku and Mapfumo. I'll vote for Simba though, he's great. And why isn't KB or Asa nominated here?
We have a ton of people nominated for best duo or group. Jozi and P-Square stand above the rest but the other groups are hot too. I will vote for P-Square, they are obviously the biggest and they have some of the best videos of any African group.
I can't believe Ofori Amponsah was nominated under dancehall. That must be a joke. How wasn't 5Five nominated instead? Samini must be doing wonders for Mr. All4Real here though the latter is also getting huge airplay in Southern Africa. I'll hope there are a number of good reasons to nominate Ofori Amponsah here and vote for him.
Last year, it was Gazza stealing the Kwaito crown and this year you have Sunnyboy and Da Dogg challenging. Kabza is the Kwaito king with apologies to Arthur and I really hopes he wins this one, this year.
I totally love Tuface's music and his True Love song is already getting to legendary status but I want to give a shout out to Gal Level for their hit, Falling in love. Tuface gets my vote for the best R&B with the girls from Namibia a close second.
The Sengemenge video is one of the best out of Africa in awhile. Final vote goes to KC Presh. U know my P and Zero are great songs too.
It's tough to over Freshlyground but I am pulling for Gal Level in this one for Best African Southern. Nice to see Taygrin nominated as well. I never knew about Ziqo, hot video he has there.
I believe D'Banj would win Best African West with 'Move your body'. Or maybe the Nigerians may split votes and Becca may pull a surprise. I'd vote for her too.
I believe Amani will win the Best African East and she gets my vote. That Zero song is hero though.
Video of the Year? This is where I have to go with Freshlyground. This group is Africa's best and if they keep on going strong, a Grammy may be very well in sight.
the people that are nominated are all unknown.i never heard of them before
where is yebariba samboribobo....
where is SAUCE KID!
fuck you guys yeah.........
these nominations shld be booedddddddddddddd....
like duhhhh
Male Vid = HHP, hands down. HHP is the man of the moment and his vids are lekker beyond. Music and Lights baby!
Female Vid = a tie between Becca and Sasha, although i do see KB winning this one.
I havent listened or watched any of the newcomer vids, so will have to pass on that one. Maybe i shd be the newcomer for next yr...hmmmm :)
Best duo = P Square. Only because their name starts with a P. Nah, because they have the best vids ever, and the boys can daaaaance. Um, why is DJ cleo in this one?
Ragga Dancehall = ? Some of these categories and nominees never cease to amaze me. if it were the right categ, id say Odwo, but id have to wonder why Samini wasnt nominated?
Kwaito = hmmm. because im Kabelos hugest fan, I'll say Kabza, but because of the song choice id have to pass for this one and say Arthur even though i detest the guy.
RnB ...another hmmm. this is where the challenge between song and video comes in. Cos naturally id say 2face, but i think the video was crap for such a great song...sooo, i'l' go for Amani :)
Hip Hop = ? Mara why is naeto c even on this list? Where are the jabbas of our time? Jamani, really. But ... i think this one will go to ze Sengemenge!
Southern = Its fresh and its ground. Need I say more :) And they r def winning this one too.
West = DBanj, of course....and by a looong shot :)
East = Amaniiiiiiiiiiiii!
Of the yr = Freshlyground! I havent seena vid like potbelly in a while...it was simply beautiful, literally.
I'll go for Sauce Kid instead of Naeto C too. Has Sauce Kid actually released his album? Didn't Mode 9 get played on Channel O? His song Nigerian girls is the shiznit!
It seems KB is a shoe-in to win the best female video but I can't even tell you why. Maybe because her song has been at the top of the Channel O charts for awhile now. Swazibella, what did Arthur do?
And where is Jose Chameleone this year? He did come out with Katupakase right so he should have been in the running.
Alikiba should have been nominated. How did Channel O choose their nominees? Yahooze of all songs is not even representing.
I remember keitu talking about Nonhle in last year's awards ceremony. I hope Channel O puts up a better show this year. Nonhle and KB are both veejays.
Kabelo “KB” Ngakane is also known as Krazy Boy and has been making waves with Bleksem. He's been with Channel O since 1998. Yolisa Phahle, Channel O’s General Manager, says that Channel O wants to take ownership of the event. Hmmm. I don't fault them for doing so but it would have been nice to select some major African musicians who were not nominated of course as hosts. I think Samini, K-Lyinn, Juliana Kanyomozi, Dare Art Alade and Lira Molapo would have been excellent hosts.
i really feel bad that some other countries dont even have a single representative, this is really bad we need more countries in africa to take part.
jose chameleon should have been nominated,he is the king of africa.
i'd say its a good one... sauce kid has no materials out this year except for that wak sanbaribobo video... he was not even nominated for an award in his country talkless of in SA.
naeto c has a good one, so does dbanj, ikechukwu, mtrill and the rest of them... its some days away so we d just keep our fingers crossed.. HHP for life
