Tusker Project Fame controversy - Renee Olende

Let it be known - from Museke guest - nmcmicheaux

In 2006 the Tusker project fame show was based in Kenya, None the less it was unfortunate that endamol disqulaified Renee Olende for saying she voted for Nakayaa over Tina because she felt Nakayaa's performance was better. It was so strange how her eviction was not shared with the public who vote for her that week and lost money. Truth be told, the girl displayed some serious talent - if you looked past the personality that the show protrayed of her. Kenya missed out then, lets hope she will come back to the music arena blazing.

Renee's profile: Singer- song writer, plays the piano and guitar, dancer - featured on dance 360 and dance Africa season 1 finaist in Kenya, holder of a Bachelors degree in Communication - Radio/TV/Film production and an MBA in Marketing, a person with a great personlaity and so cultured. I used to be a hater till I met her in person. I think the whole world has to know the potential we have in Kenya.

Its ironical that in 2008 when contestans were conspiring they were not disqualified by endamol. KBL should have done better to protect Renee in 2006, they made a bad choice, lets see what comes out of it. So far nothing. May be it is true when they saying tusker project fame is a marketing approach used by Tusker, the company could care less weather you can sing or not. If they get you drinking their products they have achivd their purpose.

Word of advise don't believe the hype, what you see on reality TV is produced, edited and sometime scripted.

It seems this particular Tusker Project Fame brought out a lot of stars. I don't know much about the controversy surrounding Renne but I hope she does well.

This contest had Stephen Onkoba (Kenya), Melton Cephas (Uganda), Francis Wekesa (Kenya), Tina Korosso (Tanzania), Paul Lwanga (Uganda), Nakaaya Sumari (Tanzania), Christine Ogola (Kenya), Renee Olende (Kenya).

Nakaaya came out with Mr. Politician and that was a huge hit and she got nominated for an MTV African Music Award for Listener's choice award.
Valerie Kimani got nominated for a Kora award (Best Arrangement) as well for Besame mucho.
