Simba was born Nelson Angelo da Conceicao Sitoe in the outskirts of Maputo, in Mozambique.
He fell in love with Hip-Hop in 1993 when he saw the American band "De La Soul" on TV and this increased when he saw Common's "I used to love her". He started emulating American rappers and in 1997 he started composing his own lyrics. He then formed a group that was called Broxen.
He left the group in 1999 and launched his solo career with a song called Glorious Food in 2001. This was a hit in the Maputo even though he never released an album until 2005 which was dubbed "Run and tell your mother". The album combines hip hop, jazz and soul.
He now has his own label called "Brown Records".
