Bonchaka's real name is Terry Adjetey and is a grandson of Peter Ala Adjetey who was the Speaker of Parliament from 2000-2004. The Ghanaian hiplife cum ragga artiste who attended Adisadel College had been performing in a lot of Cape Coast secondary schools before he got his big break through Club Pleasure, the entertainment segment of Miss Ghana. He won the 2001 competition and built on his fan base from there.
He was known for his energy on stage, choreography and stage attires. He wanted to bring the old school fashion back because he felt it was the best and kept an afro as his look. His music was influenced by many genres but he particularly liked Wulomei (Akrowa) and James Brown of I'm black and proud fame.
Terry Bonchaka was a premier Ghanaian hiplife (ragga) artiste till his untimely death in October 2003. Prior to that, he was working on a highlife innovation he called Bonchakata. He also had dreams of studying to become a lawyer. The people who showed up at his funeral validated his idol following and the influence of hiplife on Ghanaian youth.
A posthumous album called Zoozey came out shortly after his death. With her mother involved, another album called Azaa girl was released in 2007 featuring old recordings in the studio.
Some of his popular songs include Zoozey, Nkabom, Sweetie, Chichinapi, Ewurade, Kaasha flash, Lominava, etc.

bonchaka was one of the realest and most entertaining emcees ghana ever had. it's sad he had to die young, he could have carried the torch of new-age Ghanaian music.
Terry, RIP
Respect this broda, no one could jam like him. please add more terry bonchaka songs
Terry bonchaka is doing his best Tupac Shakur impersonation, he keeps on releasing new songs from his grave. Just kidding. There is a new posthumous album by the Puulele man called Azaa girl.
It is 7 track album and it also features some interviews as well as a tribute by his colleagues. It also has a pretty cool Christmas song called Bronya (of course) featuring King Ayisoba. It also has Terry's first ever song recorded in studio (Hmm, hope it's great)
Apparently the new album comes with a video, that should be really interesting to see.
Listen to a track called Sweety by Terry Bonchaka from his last album - Zoozey
Saw the video for Bronya the other day.
It's pretty nice, uses old footage of Terry Bonchaka, some of it never before seen.
Was nice to see him making music again, hope the video gets more airplay. The song is pretty nice too.
The song features Jemima, Mr. Antwi and King Ayisoba.
The album is on the Tropic Vibe label. It features the likes of K.K. Fosu, King Ayisoba, Otumfour, Bortey, Stitch, Swift Hanni, Mr Antwi, etc.
It also has a tribute song involving Nkasei, Pope Skinnie, Tinny, Abrewa Nana, Ahenkwaa, Akasakyerema, and KOD.
