Soulfège is an Afrobeat band made up of Derrick Nii Ashong (DNA), Kelley Nicole, Jonathan Gramling. The Core playa's in the band are: DNA - ld vocalist, rhythm electric guitar; Jonathan Gramling - ld vocalist, congas; Kelley Nicole - ld vocalist; Stix Bones - drums; Alex Staley electric bass.
They have been described as an African-proud, drum-conscious hip-rap-reggae type of sound. They call their music "Afro-Diasporic Groovalicious Funkadociousness"!

Their music has been aired and played in over 43 countries worldwide as they spread the Afro-Diasporic Groovalicious Funkadociousness and their media has been heard on BBC Worldservice, NPR, the Boston Herald, MNET Africa, and MTV Africa among others. They are also involved in the Sweet Mother (Tour) Foundation. There is an SMT online television which shows on the SMT website.

Their music is influenced by Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, E. T. Mensah, Sam Cooke, Prince Nico Mbarga, Stevie Wonder, P-Funk, The Fugees, Buju Banton, The Roots, Kool & The Gang, Prince, among others.

They have won many awards and had their music videos played in over 43 countries around the world. With nominations for a Boston Music Award, an Independent Music Award, a Boston Urban Music Award and a finalist slot in the 2005 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Soulfège is redefining the sound & image of Pan-African youth music in the 21st Century.
