Kaakyire Kwame Fosu has been jokingly called Ghana's R.Kelly and is a contemporary highlife musician. He was/is part of what was originally called the Hiplife Trinity and now goes by the name D-Style which means 'different style'
Kaakyire Kwame Fosu was born on Valentine's day, 1981 to Mr. Samuel Kwamena and Madam Akua Addotei.
He started out as a member of his junior school choir. He was also involved in the drama group where he was the group‘s comedian.
He started his professional music career by joining the Soundz Unlimited Jazz Band. He went on to feature on songs by Reggie Rockstone, Nkasei, Obrafour, Mr. Borax, Obour, Deeba, Papa Shot, amongst others. One major feature was his work on Obrafour's famous 'Twe wo ho' track.
He got hooked up with Mr. Richard Holbrock of Lowdown Records which produced his debut, Adwe. The hit single (Adwe) for the album featured Batman (Samini) which led to more collaborations involving Batman, K. K and Kokovelli, which gave birth to the Hiplife Trinity. The Adwe remix produced by Hammer of the Last 2 featuring the Hiplife Trinity and Tinny is one of hiplife's best ever.
His second album had the remixes and hit tracks like Anadwo ye de. K. K. quickly became one of Ghana's best singers and contemporary highlife musician and one of the most-sought after musicians for collaborations. His work on Reggie Rockstone's Ah (and in the video) helped it earn the best video at the 2004 Kora awards.
His third album, 6 o'clock arrived in 2007 and had many hits like the title track, Number 1 and Awo yi (Obaa pa).
Some of his songs include Number 1, Lie no, Akomah, Yaapisi, Sore, Twa w'ani, Ka me hye, etc.

I am trying to figure out the members of K. K. Fosu's D-Camp (check the 6 o'clock page for info on D-Style). One member is D-Flex aka Flexibone who is featured in Ofori Amponsah's Nothing but love video.
He is also featured in K.K Fosu's Number 1 song, doing justice to the Hausa lines at the end. This guy is going to be big, there are many Hausa speakers in West Africa, hope to see some singles from him soon.
Watch the Number 1 video featuring K.K. Fosu, D-Flex and D-Camp
Flexibone aka D-Flex has some singles out, Adam and Eve featuring Kwabena Kwabena and another one with Bright of Buk Bak fame. I am pretty sure he will have something with K.K. Fosu too
..Well his real name is Abubakar Sadiq and surprising as it may seem to some, he is the younger brother of the late Mufty Dabre..
Developing...:-)
yea, read that somewhere. Hadn't realised Mufty Dabre was a Northerner himself. Don't like calling people Northerners, I just wish I would be able to tell a Dagomba person from a Frafra or Dagaare person by the name.
Yeah I get what u mean by not being comfortable wif calling people northerners. They are actually ok with calling them that but not at all wen called 'tani' or 'pepeni'..
I can quite distinguish between their names as long as they are not Islamic names.
There were a lot of them at where i grew up due to da mines and at church too. there was a whole 'dagaaba' mass and choir for them..
and moreso my bestfriends from primary to SSS have always been dagaare/dagaate for some strange reasons hehe
