What happened to the first female hiplife group aka Triple M?

Do you remember the track Girlz Girlz? The song received massive airplay in late 2003 and it came as an answer to Okomfour Kwaadee's Boyz Boyz. Girls Girls introduced Triple M, made up of Mildred Mark-Hansen, Mercy Quarshie and Monica Tawiah, to the Ghanaian music scene. They were the first female hiplife group, even though they initially started out by singing gospel music in 1995. They never released a gospel album though. Another of their hit singles was Koti, a song about policemen who beats an irresponsible husband while his wife pleads for mercy. After the Koti album, their sophomore debut was called 3+1=? (yes, you read that right). And then Mercy went solo, and we didn't hear much about the group. Museke.com brings you a quick update.

ADOLE IS GHANA’S MOST BEAUTIFUL

As if by design, the National Theater was besieged by fans of Adole singing and heaping praises upon praises on their newly crowned heroin a few minutes after she had been pronounced winner of the second edition of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful Reality Show. Indeed Adole deserve the crown as days to the finals she was cool, calm and very collected in her preparation to glory.

Adole might not be the fans favorite from the very beginning of the show but she crawled her way through the hearts of both viewers from her region, Greater Accra, and beyond. Her confidence, charm and beauty not doing away with her eloquence and knowledge were the key tools that took her to the finals and to the crown.

NO ACCREDITATION NO ENTRY!!!

The family and funeral committee chaired by Harry Laud adhered to this rule as if it was Kwame's last wish or maybe he wrote it in his will that when he dies his family should give accreditation to people who would attend his funeral. For the first time in the history of showbiz in this country for a star like Kwame Owusu-Ansah to die for a so called accreditation and the right for this and the right for that to become a major issue for his final journey to the known. The death of Kwame Owusu-Ansah has brought a lot of issues from the media, from fellow actors, some family members and funeral organizing committee.

Have you gotten your Green Card? If you have, then Wanlov!

Green Card by WanlovNo, not that one. I am taking about Wanlov's long-awaited debut CD called Green Card. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and I have really enjoyed the experience. The album is a masterpiece that has a focus on Ghana, Diasporean issues, Ghanaians abroad, etc. I remember hearing his first single 'Kokonsa' and I immediately realised a fresh new sound then. It has taken Wanlov the Kuborlor about 5 years to work on his LP and it was well worth it. It is a great album for Africans abroad to have.

D'Banj, da koko master from Nigeria, edged out Samini (Ghana), Jose Chameleone (Uganda), Hip Hop Pantsula (South Africa) and Jua Cali (Kenya) for the award at the ceremony held at OlympiaHalle in Munich, Germany on Novermber 1.
