YES-JA!
It’s been a while, but as always there has been a lot happening lately for “EeS” in Europe. Just last Month Mr. Ras Sheehama, has visited EeS (Eric Sell) in Cologne (from 21 to 29 Mai 2008) to shoot a Music Video to one of the Tracks from EeS’s latest “Sharp, Sharp!” Album, called “What Dey Fighting For?” featuring Ras Sheehama. Stars of the Future duo Irene and Jane split

So the juicy news making the rounds in the Ghanaian music scene is that Irene and Jane have split and are going to pursue solo careers. Right when we heard Styl-Plus had released a single celebrating their longevity, another group has fallen apart. I could see this coming though. Right when Irene featured on Richie's Frema remix, I could see trouble. And then later on Richie announced to me Irene had signed onto his Lynx Entertainment label and the news left was that from Charterhouse.

Grafton: M.Trill set to thrill

m.trill grafton de indispensables nigeria hip hopLike most rap artists around the globe, Teria Yarhere a.k.a Mtrill knew that he had the tendencies of putting words together to form rhymes before he ever knew he could rap. So when he embarked on a mission of writing lyrics for his elder brother, little did he know that he was laying a foundation for a career that will bring him this far. Born into the family of Mr and Mrs Yarhere on the 18th of May 1979,Mayjah thrill joined the hip hop movement when he was in Federal Government College Odogbolu. Although he knew how to rap, he was never on the fore front, instead he began exerting his energy into organizing hip hop shows.

Neez baby - the man behind the music

nana kwabena baffoe bonnie tuffour neez buck babyThe sound of music is unique in that it resonates freely within the individual long after its waves are captured within the eardrum. As many musicians throughout history have learned to master the art of noise, Nana Kwabena has been dedicated to creating his own sound that distinguishes himself from others while simultaneously making a significant contribution to the larger body of music.

In his high school years, Nana Kwabena began to teach himself the art of creative writing and channeled his talent into becoming a lyricist and performer. At the same time, he was also exposed to the art of turntabilism and became a dj.

Nhlanhla brands herself, is Mafikizolo no more?

Nhlanhla Sibongile Mafu Nciza MafikizoloMafikizolo and African music fans have to be wondering - has Nhlanhla Sibongile Mafu Nciza of Mafikizolo fame gone solo? She launched her first solo album last year and is now the face of Sunsilk as she seeks to shed her Mafikizolo image and push her name more into the limelight.

She has even launched a fashion line called NN Vibes or NN Vintage (NN are her initials). She owns it with her husband, music mogul and co-owner of TS Records, Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza. Thembinkosi owns TS Records with popular radio and TV personality, DJ Sbu Leope.

Nhlanhla released her debut solo album titled Inguquko (Change) through TS Records. This was after Mafikizolo abandoned plans for a new album and Nhlanhla quit Kalawa Jazmee to join TS Records. Kalawa believes we'll see more Mafikizolo music in the future as she still remains a member of the Mafikizolo duo but for now Nhlanhla is enjoying a successful solo career.

Emmanuel Okose, the artist formally known as Soul E

Hey guys!

The gist in town is that Emmanuel Okose (Formally Soul E) failed to honor his contract with his record label and is parading himself as an artist without a label.

Word is that his record label with which he has a valid contract; Colossal Entertainment, has a court order from the Federal High Court Lagos stopping Emmanuel Okose from using the name Soul E , parading himself as Soul E or releaseing any music in that name!

Aparently he is in South Africa to undertake some musical works and his label has vowed to sue anybody or company that does any deal with him.
