Apparently, S'bu admitted to a radio personnel that he did the remake of "Remember when it rained" as a tribute to his late girlfriend, whom he met on a rainy day.
*tear*
His CD was among the most played over the 06/07 festive season, with each club/party session playing more than half his album in one night. Among those, my favorite was "For A Reason" which features The Observer.
Sad, his vid doesn't show the popular dance move to "Remember when it rained", guess I'll just have to show y'all!

It's funny how many DJ's are releasing albums and becoming really successful at doing so. We've seen it with Coupe Decale, check out any best of Coupe Decale CD, and u'll see its full of DJs - DJ Jacob, DJ Arafat, DJ Erickson, DJ Akex Funk, DJ Christy B, etc. Even Nigeria's DJ Jimmy Jatt has his Stylee song gaining major airplay and the video ruling MTV Base charts.
So it's no surprise that DJ Sbu has had so much success. Remember it rained is a remake, but deejays are known for mixing songs at parties. So if he takes a few popular songs, localizes, personalizes or customizes it, he has an album. Watch out for more DJ Sbu's. :-)

Dj Sbu lives in Southern Africa, South Africa to be specific. He shuttles around Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria, etc, keeping dance floors busy and people happy.
